The importance of this single seat all-weather bomber/interceptor has been always overshadowed by the Korean War vintage F-86A/E/F series of day fighters. Production of F-86D's alone accounted for 2,506 aircraft. Although un-glamorous compared to its day fighter brother, the "Dog" was responsible for several world speed records. This book covers every aspect of F-86D/K and L design, structure and testing etc. It manages to cover many rarely-seen developmental aspects, and brings together a lot of new photos. Also a good modelling companion, it has a high number of Tech Order extracts and detail photos.

The Air War over the Eastern Front, history's largest and longest air campaign, has been one of the least understood chapters of aviation history. This is because-prior to the release of the Black Cross / Red Star series - histories of this immense subject have been based on material taken almost exclusively from the German side. With Volume II, the air war during the Soviet winter offensive of 1941 is described in detail. The reasons behind the German failure and subsequent resurgence in the East are portrayed, with the emphasis on air operations that have not been covered until now. Climaxing this volume are detailed descriptions of the large-scale air battles during the German offensives at Kharkov and Sevastopol in mid 1942. Nearly 200 photos and thirty well researched full-color aircraft profiles from the period illustrate this volume.

The Fiat CR.42 was considered to be one of the best and fastest biplanes ever built. This was mainly due to the fact that the Italian Air Force was a little bit slower than other air forces to adopt the monoplane, retracting under-carriage and enclosed cockpit concept. They considered that maneuverability was more important than speed and therefore stuck with the biplane. First flown in 1938, the Fiat CR.42 was still being used, though not as a front-line fighter, well into 1944. This full color, photographic reference manual with history, technical details and color profiles is a part of Italeri kits 1260 and 2653.

Developed by Fairchild from the previous C-82 Packet, the C-119 was one of the most important transport planes of the Fifties. The C-119C model had two 28 cylinder Pratt&Whitney four row radial R-4360 engines and it was distinguished from later types partly by its single wheel front undercarriage and different tail design. Production of the C-119C was speeded up when the Korean War broke out and these planes were soon being used for most of its transport missions. At the end of the war, a large number of the planes were supplied to the French, who used them widely in Indochina. Another less well-known but equally important role they played was to transport material for the construction of the DEW line radar stations in the far north of the American continent. Many examples of the C-119C were subsequently updated to meet the standards of later models. This full color, photographic reference manual with history, technical details and color profiles is a part of Italeri kit 1146.
