В сообщении Генерального Секретаря ООН для Генеральной Ассамблеи в 1997
году, обобщая катастрофическую ситуацию загрязнения среды, среди других
существенных фактов было констатировано, что в последние 20 лет в индустриально
развитых государствах утроилось количество отходов. Прогнозируется, что в
современных слаборазвитых государствах количество отходов удвоится в следующем
десятилетии. В случае неправильного управления отходами они становятся
значительным родником загрязнения среды. Сегодня человечество в своем
хозяйственном действии использует примерно 100000 токсических веществ, которых в
природе не существует и влияние которых на живые существа и экосистему в общей
сложности мало изучена. Эти токсические вещества после своего использования
попадают в места захоронения отходов. Каждый год это число увеличивается на 500 -
1000 новых видов. Как признанно, главная причина данной ситуации - недальновидная
модель производства и потребления, которая сегодня существует главным образом в

Have you ever flown in an airplane through cloud? Beneath you the ground falls away as your plane climbs. Then, as you enter the base of the cloud, fragments of cloud begin to cover the ground, which disappears from view a few patches at a time until you lose sight of it altogether. Through the window you can see the wings and engines of the plane quite clearly, but beyond the wingtips there is simply a pale gray nothing. You are looking at the inside of the cloud, and if the cloud were on the ground and you were standing in it you would call it fog. Fog is nothing more than a cloud that touches the ground. Both are made from tiny droplets of water. These are so small you can breathe perfectly easily in the fog, inhaling the droplets and then breathing them out again. They are colorless, odorless, tasteless, and completely harmless. You are unaware of breathing them, but you know the air is full of water because it quickly wets your clothes and hair. In addition, of course, it obscures your view. If you are in the open countryside where there is no road or path to guide you, a fog can soon disorient you by hiding all the landmarks. It is easy to lose your way. |
